Mission Lingo

MTC- Missionary Training Center

Companion- the missionary another is assigned to. Companions live in the same apartment, teach, and serve together

Transfers- Every 6 weeks missionaries are moved to other cities within the mission. They stay in that city for usually 1-3 transfers (6-18 weeks)

Greenie- New missionary

Trainer- An experienced missionary assigned to a greenie

Investigator- Person meeting with the missionaries to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ

Eternigator- Long term investigator

OYM- Open Your Mouth (talk to everyone you can)

P-Day- Preparation day. One day per week when missionaries run errands, do laundry, and relax from the work

ZL- Zone leader. Assigned to watch over and check in with a group of missionaries in several districts

DL- District leader. Assigned to watch over 2-3 sets of missionaries in a single district

Zone- Large geographic region within the mission boundaries

District- Smaller geographic region within a zone

Whitewash- when both missionaries are transferred out of an area at the same time, and the replacements are both unfamiliar with it
